feeding hummingbirds in Northern Indiana

Q: When should I put out the hummingbird feeder in Ft. Wayne, Indiana? what strength should the nectar be? thanks

Habitat: suburban/yard

State: Indiana

Habitat: suburban/yard

A: Believe it or not, hummingbirds have already arrived in Ft. Wayne. Not all are there yet but they've been seen in northern Indiana and points north already this year. Check out this neat website on their migration to see where they are during their migration www.hummingbirds.net

I make my own food and simply add 4 parts water to 1 part sugar. I try not to make much food at one time because it tends to get moldy very quickly - best to fill feeder often then you're sure the food is good. Enjoy!!
